Philip D. Douglass (B.A., Washington and Lee University, M.Div, Princeton Theological Seminary, Ph.D. St. Louis University) is the Professor of Church Planting, Growth and Renewal at Covenant Theological Seminary in St. Louis, Missouri. He joined the faculty in 1986 after 14 years of pastoring in the Washington, D.C., area, where he planted three churches for the Presbyterian Church in America (PCA). Since coming to the seminary, he has started two churches and recently ministered for six years as the weekend pastor of a local church where he mentored students while continuing to teach full-time. He has served 21 years on the PCA's Committee on Mission to North America (the church planting agency of the PCA) including five years as Chairman and continues as a member of MNA on the national and presbytery levels. Dr. Douglass is known for taking time to mentor and assist students in clarifying their sense of calling, as well as for encouraging their vision for church planting.
